Hon. Polly Ubah, a New Jersey based Realtor and Investor, was recently honored amongst two other illustrious sons who were selected for chieftaincy conferment by his home town Ubomiri community in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo state, Nigeria for humanitarian and charitable contributions to the people of Ubomiri.

Chief Ubah who is the Chairman of Peoples Club Nigeria International, Princeton Branch, New Jersey USA, and founding Chairman PDP, New Jersey branch and imediate past National Deputy Chairman PDP USA Chapter, is a community leader and philanthropist who believes in education as a step stone for poverty alleviation.
Chief Polly Ubah was conferred the Chieftaincy title “Ugo Eji Eje Mba 1 of Ishi Ubomiri (meaning…) while his wife Prisca Ubah received the honor “Ugo Di-ya of Ishi Ubomiri” by the King of Ubomiri His Royal Highness, Eze Emma St. George Ekeh, Ubom1 of Ishi Ubomiri.
The event took place at the King’s palace on April 21, 2014 during an elaborate ceremony marked with pomp and pageantry.
Ifeanyi Eze an IT educator, writing from New Jersey stated that “Title taking is part and parcel of Igbo culture, and forms visible hierarchy of social stratification in Igbo economic ladder….titles are not inherited, they are merited”
As the Igbo proverb goes “when big rain falls, big fishes will come out to swim, and so it was that several dignitaries from various levels of governance and community positions attended the event including a computer expert and a business mogul in Nigeria, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh “Iyi Atata 1 of Mbaitoli” CEO of Zinox Computer Technologies who announced at this event a scholarship program that began in September 2014 for Primary School age children of Ubomiri who show academic proficiency which should fund their academic pursuits all the way up to the PHD level.
In addition Chief Ekeh also donated over N30,000,000.00 towards the upkeep of the church he built for his people, Saint James Mary and John (SJMJ); 4 brand new cars to the four parish priests; and provided other humanitarian assistance to the needy.
Speaking during the breaking of the Kolanut, HRH Eze Ohiri, Leader of Imo State Council of Ndi Eze, extended his hands of blessing to Hon. Chief Uba, extolling him for his contributions and services for mankind.
Gracing the occasion were other renowned Nigerians Professor Maurice Iwu, former INEC chairman, Hon. Chuck Chukwuemeka, former Special adviser on economic matters to governor Ikedi Ohakem.
Friends of Chief Ubah from the Diaspora were, Chief Damian Ozuzu, (Chikereuba) and the owner of Darugo Hotels Owerri; Hon. ABC Ofodu, Patron Peoples Club of Nigeria; Chief Michael Anukam, (Udu Akomiri); Hon. Mathias Uzoaru, (Ezeji); and Hon. Mrs. ABC Ofodu, (Nne Amuchienwa).
