Oma Iwere Organization USA held their annual fundraising and Cultural Gala Night in Union New Jersey USA. According to the Presidnet of the organization Ms. Patience Edremoda, funds raised at the evnt goes to helping Library Projects and the needy at Itsekiri land in Nigeria and other places of need. The Chairman of the occassion, Professor Anthony Okorodudu encouraged the participants to donate generously as a way to helping the needy in Nigeria. Mayor Ras Baraka of Newark who was represented by Deputy Mayor Ugochukwu, a Nigerian-American, in presenting a proclaimation, encouraged the organization to hold its next event in Newark and promised to work with the group towards helping the needy.

The Key note speaker, Dr. Tosan Oruwariye Stressed the importance of health care awareness and delivery as a way to save lives in Nigeria and Africa and particulerly to elevate the suffering of the masses in Itsekiri land. The Itsekiri people are part of Delta State in Nigeria and are known for fishing and cultural excellence.

The highlight of the event was the the presentation of the fisherman dance, presentation of bride Tammy Oruwariye and the Ukawa dance which topped the fundraising event. Isaac Iheke, son of Chief Alexander and Lolo Gail Iheke, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kean University this May after four years as a William Livingston Scholar. Iheke majored in Political Science with a double minor in Economics and Psychology  and now joins the list of this year’s Igbo graduates looking forward to a bright future as we join Ndi Igbo across the globe to celebrate this milestone achievement by our wards.

Among the graduates was Cheryl A. Ibezim who bubbled with joy as her parents, friends, and well-wishers showed support of her achievement

The declaration of the 2015 governorship election in Abia State as inconclusive has continued to generate controversy in the two main parties in the race, the ruling PDP  and the opposition the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
An accredited voter who tried unsuccessfuly to vote on Saturday and Sunday at one of the disputed wards in Aba later stated that " the Abia Gubernatorial Election result was very ill and had been rushed to the Federal Medical Center Umuahia for surgical operation after heavy police presence at Aba town Hall"

According to the official announcement "If the margine of win is in excess of the figure record EC 40 G ... for the declaration of the governorship election result, we are about to declare the governorship election result. Now margine of lead is 83053, are you following me? Now margine of lead is 83053 ... now total number of registered voters that is in election not held or cancelled EC 40 G ...179224. It is apperent ladies and gentlemen that the margine of win in EC 40 G ... is not in excess of the total number of registered voters of the polling unit where the elections were cancelled or not held... the verdict is clear THERE IS NO DECLERED WINNER FOR THE RESULT. Is that clear? yeahhhhhhhh" it seems that these people kpu miri n' onu ekwu okwu, they seem to be speaking in thungs in God's Own State, details to follow (click on picture to view video) Saturday, 25th April is the rescheduled date for election to determine the balance of 179224 electoral votes.
